Oggi la comunicazione tra uno smartphone ed un qualsiasi device, controllabile da smartphone, fà schifo (scusate il francesismo, ma è proprio così).
Sono lo sviluppatore dell'applicazione iArd (link app) che permette di poter controllare e acquisire gli stati digitali e analogici del dispositivo Arduino con l'ausilio di uno shield di comunicazione (ethernet, wifi, wifly).
L'app comunica impostando l'indirizzo IP e la porta impostata nello sketch su Arduino (maggiori info sul sito www.nkcorporation.org) ed in questo modo è possibile pilotare/controllare i pin di Arduino per realizzare le più disparate applicazioni.
Per poter controllare Arduino da remoto (fuori dalla propria rete domestica) è necessario effettuare il forward della porta di comunicazione sul router ed poi è necessario conoscere l'indirizzo IP della propria connessione domestica. Se poi avete un indirizzo IP dinamico dovreste utilizzare un dynamic dns (come no-ip) che registra di volta in volta l'IP. Il tutto facilmente configurabile da un geek, difficilmente configurabile da un comune utente.
Pensare di poter avere un dispositivo (wireless o ethernet) plug&play con questa tecnologia è pura fantasia senza l'ausilio di un tecnico che configuri il tutto (oppure siete geek e vi configurate tutto voi, naturalmente).
Questo vale anche per i "moderni" sistemi domotici e di antifurto: dentro la propria rete domestica tutto funziona benissimo, ma per poter comandare o controllare lo stato dei dispositivi da remoto è davvero un bel guaio, e la configurazione del tecnico è fondamentale.
Ultimamente ho sentito da un collega che per poter conoscere lo stato dell'antifurto di casa, deve chiamare il combinatore telefonico e selezionare i vari numeri dal tastierino per sentire una voce che gli dice: "porta ok", oppure: "a casa c'è un ladro".
Secondo voi, ormai nel 2014, questo è da considerarsi tecnologia?!
Basti pensare che nessun sistema di demotica è plug&play e comunque la comunicazione da remoto è davvero problematica.
E' davvero così difficile poter pensare ad una lampada che si collega ad una normale presa elettrica, si inseriscono le credenziali di accesso della propria rete WiFi ed è pronta per essere utilizzata dallo smartphone, sia dentro che fuori casa, senza dover configuare nulla?!
Beh, ho già ideato qualcosa di simile che presenterò a breve :)

This also applies to the "modern" home automation and alarm systems: inside your home network everything works fine, but in order to control or monitor the status of devices remotely is really a big trouble, and the configuration of the technician is essential .
I've heard from a colleague that in order to know the status of the alarm of the house, you should call the phone dialer and select the various numbers from the keypad to hear a voice that says : "door is ok" or "thief warning".
Today, in 2014, this is can be considered technology?!
Suffice it to say that no system of domotic is plug & play and however remote communication is really problematic.
It' s really so hard to think of a lamp that plugs into a standard electrical outlet , you enter the login credentials of its own WiFi network and is ready to be used from your smartphone , both inside and outside the home, without having to configure anything?!
Well, I've already come up with something like that I will present soon :)
